It’s National Non-Fiction November and this week I was delighted to be invited to Winnersh Primary School, near Wokingham, to inspire the children to write their very own non-fiction book.
The children were enthusiastic and had prepared well for my visit. They listened attentively while I talked about how I go about researching, planning, drafting and editing my books and offered some advice for them.
When I asked if there were any questions, a forest of hands shot up. One class had brought their questions with them: every child had entered the hall with a question written on a sticky note stuck to their forehead! And they were very intelligent questions that required thoughtful answers.
I’m very much looking forward to seeing some of the children’s own non-fiction books.
