Compassion on the canal

In this month’s edition of Nautilus TelegraphPeter Gasson recounts a little-known story from the Six-Day War: a group of international seafarers marooned in the Suez Canal rescued Egyptian soldiers desperate to escape the battle zone and undoubtedly saved lives. See page 30. And on page 33 a review of my book, ‘Stranded in the Six-Day War’, the tale of the 14 merchant ships trapped for eight years in the Suez Canal.
